These aren't just tees. They're what we stand for.

Say it with us: When we say Anti-Normal, we mean “working to abolish conformity & ableism & mental health stigma.”

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 21 after a professor (who I didn’t have) told me that my incessant fidgeting was most likely a sign of something else. The Doctor prescribed me adderall, and I got a bottle of 28 pills right before I hopped on a plane to move to San Francisco to work in a group home for severely emotionally disturbed children ages 5 to 13.

It was a rough transition to a new city. The combination of my diagnosis & working in the group home & not having close friends revealed just how precarious mental health is and how crucial it is to survival for myself, for the young folx in the home, for my colleagues. And I learned quickly that there isn’t one “normal” because each one of us has a unique way of experiencing and making meaning of this world.

Since then, I have made a commitment to disrupting “normal,” & creating ways for those who so often get left out–disabled folx, neurodivergent folx, Queerdos–to feel included and like they belong
