JOIN US FOR A QIQI!

Queer Art School Founding Fellows are throwing a QiQi to celebrate the launch of our first radical experiment: Queer Artist Narratives Boot Camp.

We'll share details about how you can become part of our inaugural group of Artist Fellows and contribute to an engaging, peer-based praxis that fosters mutual exchange, care, and support.

To be considered for Queering Artist Narratives Boot Camp, you must attend one our two QiQis: Wednesday, April 26 from 11am to 12pm PST OR Thursday, May 11 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm PST.

Queer Art School is for anyone who self identifies as queer, trans or gender non-specific & also identifies as an artist, regardless of experience or discipline. Queer Art School is for those who want to learn, create & share in a space where our whole selves are treated with care & dignity.

WHAT & WHO IS QUEER ART SCHOOL?

SUPPORT QUEER ART SCHOOL!

Queer Art School was developed by the volunteer efforts of Crystal Mason, Juan Carlos Escobedo, Jason Wyman, Trayvon Smith, Midori, and blkcowrie. We are fiscally sponsored under the name Queering Dreams by Independent Arts & Media.

We are committed to raising $12,000 for our first offering, Queering Artist Narrative Boot Camp. The $12,000 go to:

  1. Pay 5 Artist Fellows Stipends ($1000 / Fellow) who are Black, Indigenous, brown, immigrant, rural, trans, gender non-specific, disabled, displaced, youth, or elder artist who would not otherwise be able to attend Queering Artist Narrative Boot Camp.
  2. Pay 5 Founding Fellows Stipends ($1000 / Fellow) to facilitate Queering Artist Narratives.
  3. Have $2000 on hand for incidental costs including Zoom, materials and supplies, transription services, and additional Artist Stipdens as needed.

Queer Art School embraces the core tenets of the Solidarity Economy. Our budget for Queering Artist Narratives Boot Camp prioritizes first paying low-income or poor artists for their involvement in Boot Camp. Second, we will pay the Founding Fellows for their labor. Finally, we use additional funds to pay for incidental costs.

Queer Art School is a program of Queering Dreams, which is fiscally sponsored by Independent Arts & Media.

Please make a tax deductible contribution today.
