Political Clowns is a line started in 2016 as a way for Queerly Complex Co-Founder Jason Wyman to make meaning out of the political landscape. Jason took old protest photos and transformed the protestors into clowns. They used the signs they were holding to write messages that helped Jason process their civic life. Jason posted these clowns on social media and engaged their neighbors near and far in a dialectic about the issues that matter to them. It was a way to try to shift the needle towards the politics of liberation with neighbors who might need some help expressing their radical beliefs.
With “The Kingdom,” we’re taking Political Clowns out of social media and into the physical world with a brand new line of merch. Now, more than ever, we need to talk to our neighbors about what we believe. We cannot wait. And Political Clowns can help you declare them in bold, fun, and stylish ways in fabulous Queer Comfortwear.
